Role of the EDC

European Documentation Centres are part of the official network of information centres established by the European Commission in selected universities to encourage and support the study of the European aspects of academic courses.

Northumbria EDC was established in 1973 since when it has maintained a reference collection, in English, of official EU print resources.

The EDC is located on Floor 2 of the City Campus Library

The EDC is an open access collection and is accessible throughout the City

Access

The EDC was established primarily to support users at Northumbria University, but the collection is available to all those in the North East region who need access to European Union information. External visitors are encouraged to contact the EDC in advance of their visit and should carry identification to secure a Visitor's Pass.
